Shooting · Elimination
The "7's Game" (often referred to as 7-Up) is a popular, fast-paced street basketball shooting game often played on playgrounds like Venice Beach to sharpen shooting skills and handle pressure. While typically played with 2 or more players, it is commonly played with 4 people to quickly determine a winner and a loser.
Rules of 7's Game (7-Up):
- Objective: Do not get 7 points. The first person to reach or exceed 7 points is knocked out, or in some variations, wins the round while others lose.
- Setup: All 4 players line up at a designated spot, usually the free-throw line or a three-point line, each with a basketball (or taking turns shooting).
- Gameplay: Players alternate shooting one at a time.
- Scoring ("In the Bucket"): If a player makes their shot, they add 1 point to the "bucket" total. If the following player makes their shot, the bucket increases by 1. If a player misses, they must take all the points currently in the bucket as their own score.
- Elimination: Once a player accumulates 7 or more points, they are knocked out of the game.
- Winning: The last player remaining without 7 points is the winner.
